text-align: justify"> 농촌진흥청(청장 이수화)에 따르면 식량의 자급이 최대 과제였던 지난 1970년대 벼 신품종 개발단계에서 도열병 저항성 검정은 필수사항이었는데 제천시가 봉양읍 봉양리 땅 7,605㎡을 농촌진흥청에 시험지로 제공함으로써 이 문제를 해결함과 동시에 쌀의 자급달성이 앞당겨질 수 있었다는 것.</span></p> <p style="font-size: 14pt; text-align: justify"> 농촌진흥청 작물환경과 노재환 박사는 “벼 도열병은 온도와 습도가 높은 장마기를 전후하여 질소질 양분이 많은 논에서 잘 걸린다”며, “벼 이삭이 도열병에 걸리면 수확량이 급격히 줄어들기 때문에 이 같은 피해를 막기 위해서는 벼의 신품종 육성단계에서부터 도열병에 대한 철저한 저항성 검정이 필요하다”고 말했다.</span></p> <p style="font-size: 14pt;
